About the Award
The Pritzker Military Library Literature Award for Lifetime Achievement in Military Writing was established by Tawani Foundation in 2007 as a means to recognize a living author who has made a significant contribution to the understanding of American military history including military affairs. These contributions may be academic, non-fiction, fiction, or a combination of any of the three. The recipient may be of any nationality and may have written their collective works in any language.
2011 Nomination Form
Nominations for the Award are only accepted from publishers, agents, book sellers, and other professionals in the publishing industry by completing the Nomination Form and submitting five (5) copies of the authors’ definitive works. Nominees are reviewed and evaluated by a Screening Committee featuring previous Award winners, military historians, community leaders, academics, and journalists from around the country. Finalists are then submitted to the Tawani Foundation to complete the Award process.
