Tawani Foundation Cadet Award for Military Excellence Program
The Tawani Foundation Award for Military Excellence for JROTC and ROTC units around the country was established with the purpose of recognizing those who exemplify the ideal of the Citizen Soldier. This encompasses the areas of outstanding military knowledge, academic achievement, physical fitness, military bearing and participation and leadership in community service.
The Tawani Foundation is proud to recognize cadets and midshipmen who embody this ideal.
Funding Report
- 36 cadets and 4 chaperones attended the National Archery Competition in Louisville, Kentucky on May 8th and May 9th 2009.
- 45 cadets and 5 chaperones toured Fort Knox and Mammoth Cave in Fort Knox, Kentucky during Spring Break, April 5-8, 2009.
- 43 cadets and 5 chaperones attended the Spring Break staff ride to Gettysburg National Park and toured Washington, D. C. April 4-8, 2009.
- 40 cadets and 5 chaperones toured the United States Military Academy, United States Naval Academy, Norwich University and Antietam Battlefield during Spring Break, April 5-10, 2009.
- 172 cadets were awarded the Tawani Cadet Recognition Award in May 2009.
