Oral History Program
In 2006, Tawani Foundation renewed our support of the Naval Institute’s Oral History program with a Program Grant of $150,000. The Foundation’s association with the Naval Institute in helping to develop and publish oral histories has been a great source of pride for the organization.

In 2009, our Oral History Program marks its 40th Anniversary of our Oral History Program. Though the generosity of the Tawani Foundation, partnership with the US Navy and the Department of Defense, we are reaching more people with our program this year than ever before in the past. Our Oral Histories have been digitized, including some audio, and we have reached more than 175K individuals, through the sharing and push of content in the form of printed materials, digitized interviews and audio recordings.
